Art - From Dealers and Resellers
A dealer is, obviously, a person or entity that sells art, adding value through having it available, perhaps adding the framing or presentation, and providing a selection from which to choose. A reseller is someone who owns a piece of art and wants to sell it. In both cases, the seller is not the artist. This has its advantages and disadvantages. For instance, simply because an artist is creative and talented does not mean that he or she has thew same talent for presenting his or her work. Dealers, on the other hand, recognize that buyers want a complete package are focus on presentation. Resellers have works they are willing to part with. If the price is right the buyer gets a good buy. The seller parts with a work they have perhaps enjoyed for awhile but can no long keep and receives compensation. As a buyer, if the item matches what you want, for the price you want to pay, go for it. |
