Jewelry
This category has five subcategories: Native American, Southwestern, Handcrafted Artisan, Fine Jewelry, and Other.
Native American is for jewelry made by Native Americans. So Native American-style jewelry made in the Pacific does not qualify and should be listed under Southwestern or Other.
Southwestern jewelry has a style of its own, usually following designs of the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni and other tribes and pueblos of New Mexico and Arizona. In this category, however, the jewelry does not have to be made by Native Americans.
Handcrafted Artisan jewelry must be handcrafted but has no restrictions on style, where it is made, or who made it. But a short explanation of handcrafted is warranted. Assume the artisan has made a pair of lampwork dangle earrings. The lampwork beads should have been made by the artisan and the earrings assembles by the artisan. But it should not be expected that the artisan mage the French wire findings.
Fine Jewelry is for jewelry made of precious metals and/or precious (as opposed to semi-precious) stones. See the subcategory for more information.
Other, obviously, is for everything else. An example might be the pink plastic wrist bands associated with Susan G. Komen for the Cure supporting breast cancer research. While another category might be armlets as opposed to bracelets. |
