Lladro Privilege
Lladro figurines are made in Valencia, Spain, of hard paste porcelain and gres. The Lladro family of companies was started by the Lladro brothers, Juan, José and Vicente in 1953. When buying a Lladro, look for the blue Lladro symbol on the bottom of the piece. It was first used in 1974. If the Lladro that interests you does not have the Lladro symbol, verify the piece with the Authorized Lladro Reference Guide. The guide is available from Andrews Gallery. If still unsure, ask the seller questions before you buy.
Lladro Privilege was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the Lladro Society. Like the Lladro Society, Lladro Privilege also has an annual piece, available only to Lladro Privilege, but there are no dues or annual fees. Members are identified by dealers. In addition to the annual piece, other figurines exclusive to Lladro Privilege are available. In 2004, Lladro introduced Lladro Privilege Gold. An annual fee organization, Lladro Privilege Gold ads another level of exclusivity. Generally, Privilege Gold pieces have a higher price tag than Privilege and are scarcer. In shopping for Lladro Privilege and Lladro Privilege Gold pieces, use the Authorized Reference Guide and the listings on the web site of an Authorized Lladro Dealer such as Andrews Gallery. |
