NAO by Lladro
NAO by Lladro is a second line of figurines that has the purpose of making porcelain figurines affordable to lovers of beauty. The line began in 1967 when the LladrĂ³ brothers purchased a small porcelain factory very close to the city of Valencia. The figurines introduced a new style and were first commercialized under the brand name Rosal. These first creations are full of charm and innocence, features that were maintained in the NAO evolution.
In 1975, the name changed to ZAPHIR and the factory moved to new premises with larger workshops. ZAPHIR creations embraced a wider variety of themes and were more stylized. The brand found rapid acceptance in the United States as it became internationally renowned.
The brand became NAO in 1982 as a result of the LladrĂ³ brothers search for a new business name for introduction into other international markets. NAO was the name of old sailing boats in the time of Columbus. The logo of a NAO always incorporates a sailing ship with the name NAO. |
