Other Figurines and Sculptures - Norman Rockwell
Norman Rockwell is perhaps the most famous American artist in the world. His first published painting was Mother's Day Off, published on May 20, 1916 on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. Over a period of 47 years, Rockwell published a total of 321 original covers. Additionally, he created covers for other magazines including The Literary Digest, The Country Gentleman, Leslie's Weekly, Judge, Peoples Popular Monthly and Life Magazine. On May 29, 1943, The Saturday Evening Post published Rockwell's Rosie the Riveter. Norman Rockwell chronicled Americana.
Over the years many figurine manufacturers have licensed the Rockwell images and turned them into figurines. The current list of manufacturers included David Grossman, Goebel, Islandia International, Gorham, Danbury Mint, and the Norman Rockwell Collectors Club. Usually Rockwell figurines are moderately priced while some are more expensive. For instance, Practice Make Perfect, a limited edition of 5000 by Lladro, sold out in 1982 at $800.00. In contrast, Rockwell's "Saying Grace" by Gorham can be found today for $149.95. Shop wisely. If the figurine is what you want and meets your requirement for value, buy it.
